The Motor Insurance Database (MID) is established as a vital tool in tackling uninsured driving. It holds details of over 30 million vehicles and it is fundamental that data on this database is quickly and accurately completed as soon as your customer’s insurance commences or changes. Under the Continuous Insurance Enforcement (CIE) system, the Motor Insurance Bureau (MIB) and the DVLA are working in partnership to identify uninsured vehicles by comparing their records with those held on the MID.

    • Submit new policy information to us as soon as cover is required
    • Confirm renewals no later than 3 days prior to policy expiry to ensure vehicles remain visible on the database
  • We are happy for customers to supply the relevant information themselves, or for you as their broker to supply it on their behalf
  • A customer arranging for any other third party to provide vehicle detail on their behalf, does so at their own discretion, but must still ensure that data is submitted via our website
