Although FSA requirements relating to ELTO apply to insurers we can only meet our obligations with your help. We need your active support to capture the ERN and subsidiary information from your customers, both Main Account and Delegated Authority arrangements, for transmission to the ELTO database.
The key points for our brokers are:
- All ELTO members will be required to provide the same information to the Employers’ Liability Database (ELD), based on a single industry-wide template. Click here to download this template.
- ELTO members, such as RSA, will need to supply this information to the ELD on a monthly basis, including their current book of all live EL policies.
- If you transact business with RSA as broker, then you are unlikely to transfer information directly to ELTO – RSA will forward the information stored on our systems on to ELTO automatically.
- If you operate a scheme with RSA then you will be required to submit information about all new and renewed policies under your scheme on a monthly basis. Click here to see the process for submitting this information.
From April 2012, the FSA will require ELTO members to supply all subsidiary names as well as the Employer Reference Number (ERN) for the policyholder and all subsidiaries for all new and renewed policies. Click here to find out why they need the ERN.
We need you to help us capture this information and to help you do so we have created a template for you to download from our RSA Connect website. You will need to complete the template with all relevant client details and submit it to a dedicated e-mail address. We will then process the provided information and pass it on to ELTO as required.
The template is available for all commercial business with EL excluding e-traded business and delegated authority scheme business. For e-traded policies (transacted via RSA Online, Acturis or Powerplace), you need to update the policy record directly. Delegated authority scheme business is reported separately via the completion of a monthly return.
