We are changing our telephone numbers

The new Consumer Rights Directive, which comes into force on 1 July 2015, prevents companies from using premium rate lines for servicing customers without also publicising a number charging the geographic rate. The intention of the Directive is that calls to 03 numbers will cost no more than calls to geographic numbers (01 or 02). They must also be included in inclusive minutes and discount phone schemes.

RSA is taking the opportunity to switch to low rate 03 numbers, so our customers, brokers and partners can take advantage of lower costs to contact us, and we will transfer all existing 08 numbers to the corresponding 03 system.

All RSA websites, policy wordings and summaries are being updated, along with marketing material, and we're in the process of contacting third parties (delegated scheme brokers, software houses etc) to understand any changes to their systems and documentation too. We will keep the 08 phone numbers live for at least a year due to renewals, so if a customer calls they will still get through, but not at the cheaper rate.

If you issue RSA documentation then you will probably need to update your printed documents. You can do this by downloading them at www.rsabroker.com, or by requesting new printed versions from your usual RSA contact.

In Summary:

Q) Do I have to change RSA telephone numbers?

A) Yes, all 08 and 09 have to change. RSA is changing all non-geographical numbers, including some 0800 numbers (subject to agreement)

Q) When do I have to update to the new numbers?

A) Currently, we are on target to update all RSA owned literature by the end of May

Q) What if I don't know whether a number is affected?

A) If the number starts 08 or 09, then it is probably changing. Please contact your usual RSA contact for the updated number, or use the "feedback" button on www.rsabroker.com

Q) What if I use an 08 number myself?

A) We'd appreciate it if you could let us know whether or not you are changing your number, so please contact your usual RSA contact to advise us. If you choose to keep your existing numbers, no action is required by RSA, and we will not need to make any changes to documents
