Important changes to RSA documentation

Steve Lewis will be joining RSA as Chief Executive of RSA UK and Western Europe with effect from January 2015. This means that certain documents currently with Adrian Brown’s signature need to be updated.   We will be making these changes to our own systems and via your Softwarehouses, however you should replace any obsolete documents that you may have in stock.

What you need to do for Commercial Motor documents

  • If you have a motor covernote book in your possession, this will become non compliant after 1st March 2015.
  • New books will be available for you to order with effect from 22nd December 2014 but these must not be used prior to 1st January 2015.
  • Please contact your normal RSA office with your agency details and we will arrange for a new book to be issued to you.
  • On receipt of your new book, the old one must be returned to us together with any other RSA covernote books you may have in your possession and for security purposes, please score through all unused covernotes marking them as 'spoiled' before returning the books to us.

What you need to do for Personal Motor documents:

  • If you have a motor covernote book, this will become non compliant from 1st March 2015.
  • New books will be available for you to order with effect from 22nd December 2014. Please note these must not be used prior to 1st January 2015.
  • Within the current book, you will find a replacement request form, please either forward this to us to request a new book or alternatively email us at: covernote.request@uk.rsagroup.com with your agency details and we will arrange for a new book to be issued to you.
  • On receipt of your new book, the old one must be returned to us together with any other RSA covernote books you may have and for security purposes, please score through all unused covernotes marking them as 'spoiled' before returning the books to us.

Personal Lines motor softwarehouse documentation has also received a number of improvements:

  • Personal Accident is now included as standard for comprehensive cover for all Drive and High Net Worth motor products;
  • Where possible we’ve updated the replay of the Accident and Conviction questions to more accurately reflect the recommendations of the ABI following the Consumer Insurance Act review;
  • We’ve updated the renewal pack to advise of changes made to the policy wording in the last year by way of an ‘important notice of change’.

The scheduled ‘Live date for the above changes to each Software House is as follows:

Datamatters : 1st January 2015
Applied  :  1st January 2015
Open GI  :  4th January 2015
Acturis  :  19th January 2015
CDL :  1st January 2015
SSP   :  15th January 2015

RSA documentation is scheduled to be updated for the signature change on 23rd February 2015. The change to include Personal Accident for comprehensive cover is scheduled for later in the year.

The following important notice of change has been issued to Personal Lines policies with a renewal prepared on or after 5th November 2014.
