Jon Hancock
Managing Director
Jon started work for RSA in 1990 in Liverpool as a Marine underwriter. After rising through the ranks to become the underwriting and development manager for the North, he moved out to Singapore to head up our commercial underwriting operations for five years, delivering a profitable and sustainable portfolio of insurance business throughout the Asian region. Following this, Jon went on to become CEO of our Asia Middle East operations where he oversaw the acquisition and integration of Al Ahlia Insurance – then the Middle East’s 3rd largest insurer. Having achieved great success abroad, Jon decided to return to the UK to take up the role of Commercial’s managing director. Jon is a lifelong Liverpool FC supporter and has 2 children, Emma,18, and Sam, 16.
Tara Kneafsay
SME/Volume Business Director
Tara joined RSA Group in February 2004, within the RSA Ireland’s finance function, having previously built a solid career in management consultancy at Andersen and then Ernst & Young. In 2006 she moved to the UK and took up the role as group head of financial control, where she was responsible for delivering Sarbanes Oxley compliance across RSA Group. Following this, she worked on the group chief executive's team as his executive assistant before moving, in 2008, to take up the role as CEO of RSA Latvia. After three years in Eastern Europe, Tara returned to the UK as commercial director of SME and volume business. Tara's passionate about skiing and she also enjoys watching rugby.
Chris Sime
Sales & Strategic Relationships Director
Chris joined the Group in August 1987 as a personal lines underwriter in Glasgow. His experience has been gained via a number of customer-facing roles including UK field sales director & regional director for the north of England. He started his current role as sales & strategic relationships director in December 2010, where he is responsible for our sales & distribution strategy and the development of our broker relationships. He enjoys keeping fit & playing golf.
Mike Lawton
UK Business Director
Mike joined RSA in Jan 2006 as sales director, before that having spent 10 years with GE running a consumer finance business. Mike became the director of RSA's UK Mid-Market division in January 2009, which is a major part of the UK Commercial business. The mid-market business in RSA is made up of business above SME and below the largest of global risks, and covers the Corporate, Property Investors and Professional & Financial market segments. Mike is responsible for all case level sales and underwriting within the business and the overall P&L result. Married with 2 children, Mike is a fanatical Liverpool FC Supporter and a very poor golfer.
Paul Greensmith
Global Business Director
Paul first joined RSA in 1997 as a graduate trainee, where after training started as a Property & Casualty underwriter. In 2001 he became the group strategy & change manager. He spent two years away from RSA leading the strategy & planning team for the Lloyds market before returning in 2005 as the strategy & marketing director of Broker, moving in 2006 to UK chief auditor. In 2008 Paul became Risk Solutions director before becoming the global business director for RSA Commercial in January 2009. His role includes the responsibility of heading up Risk Solutions UK, Global Europe, Marine, Construction Power & Engineering, Global Network, Global Consulting and the US MGA.
Colin Bradbury
Commercial Underwriting Director
Colin has worked in RSA for 33 years in a variety of underwriting-related roles, across both Mid-Market and Global businesses as well as head office functions. He has specialised in the Liability classes including liaison and representation in market forums, as well as with trade bodies. He moved into his current role within Commercial in January 2008, where he is responsible for setting the risk appetite and pricing strategy for the whole of our Commercial lines of business.
